I am interested in learning Mandarin chinese and am an absolute beginner. I want to learn for personal achievement and because it could be good for my career advancements into another company as i am an air hostess.
I can take a couple of hours tuition a week and i have plenty of spare time to dedicate to study and homework.
I' m looking for a very capable and patient teacher that has experience in teaching mandarin. I would prefer a fluent speaking teacher. I'd like to be set a good amount of work to do out of tuition lesson time.

I believe I'm between beginner/inte rmediate level because I can read many chinese characters, but cannot write most of them. I also can understand some Chinese, but speaking it is difficult. I am learning Chinese for my own pleasure and I wish to become fluent. I need improvement in writing, speaking, and grammar. I would like to dedicate one day a week and hours depending on the instructor and my ability to master fluency. I am looking for patience, creativity, and flexibility in my instructor. I would also be accompanied by another student so please bear that in mind.

I am a beginning learner of Mandarin in conversation only. I have had an interest in languages since I was very young. In high school I studied Latin. In college I earned a minor in German. I have studied Spanish some on my own. Over the last year I have used a Pimsleur Mandarin course to learn some conversation.
My wife and I have a 2 year old daughter adopted from China in February, 2004. I have recently sold my business and am seriously considering future work that would involve living in China. Conversation would be my greatest need I believe, but I would like to learn characters too. I feel I could devote as much as 2 hours a day to lessons.
I would like to hear the language as authentically as possible from my tutor. He or she would of course, need patience and a sense of humor.
