I am a female native English speaker looking for a Mandarin tutor. I lived in Taiwan for several years in the 90's so have a strong foundation in Mandarin. I'm looking to improve my spoken Mandarin overall, and work on using it in a professional capacity. Looking for 2-3 lessons per week when I am in the country (I travel a great deal).

My daughter is now studying in Grade 9. I need a tutor who has been tutoring students in Mandarin Language in high school.
Sh e needs someone who can coach her in Mandarin so that she will be able to sit for her IB diploma chinese language exam.
She will need to take the lessons twice a week.
The tutor should be able to explain clearly the lessons from her school textbooks and other newspaper materials.
The tutor must preferably be living in Dubai. Oman is also possible.

I am eager to gain a basic proficiency in mandarin chinese. I have been in Beijing for a week. I have come to China to spend time with my son and look forward to spending several months here at this time, with possibility of further return trips. At this time I have picked up just a few words. My languages are English, French and Italian. I find that often sounds in Mandarin are more closely related to sounds in French, which has helped me. I would like to have one on one lessons, for 2 hours 3 times a week, or, other if better recommended. I have a good ear for sounds and mimic quite easily but need much reinforcement to remember! so I enjoy repetition and formulating sentences that are practical for every day life. Finding words in the dictionary I find sometimes frustrating as I can't guess the sounds needed. I would also like help in learning chinese writing so I can understand simple signs etc. Thank you for your interest and reply.
