I just arrived in Hong Kong two weeks ago and I want to continue learning Chinese, both Cantonese and Mandarin. I have had classes in each language, more in one than the other. I want to learn the traditional characters so that I can read the newspapers and magazines here as well as being able to understand and speak.
I think I am probably an advanced beginner (with some gaps) in Cantonese. And more of a beginner in Mandarin. I am not sure if it would be possible to do both languages together but I would be interested in discussing it.
Curren tly I have a schedule that gives me some time free during the middle of the day most days and I'd really like to use some of it for taking Chinese classes. Most weekdays I am in Hung Hom.
Patie nce and a good sense of humor is definitely a plus.

I have been studying Mandarin for about 9 months now. I took a couple of courses at Seminole Community College and have gained some profiency since then by listening to language CDs and watching movies. I would like to become fluent in spoken and written Mandarin. I am serious about learning this language. I study every day fo at least 1 hour a day . Some days I study more. My native tongue is English and I have spent the last seven years (undergraduat e and working) in Montreal living in French. Thus, I am fluently bilingual.
In the next few years I intend to be moving to Asia to pursue my career and am looking to learn the beginnings of both Cantonese and Mandarin.

I am a female native English speaker looking for a Mandarin tutor. I lived in Taiwan for several years in the 90's so have a strong foundation in Mandarin.
