I am currently taking a French 1 course at my high school, but i'm having diffuculties with the language, and am interested in some additional help for after school or weekend hours. I feel that i'm not retaining the information learned during my French class as well as I should be, and I have troubles with almost all areas of learning, including correct pronunciation , French verbs, vocabulary, and correct sentence structure. In a reliable French tutor, i'm looking for qualities that include flexability, a program that could eventually, over time, lead me to fluency, and a reasonable price for lessons. I would also like someone dedicated to helping me learn, patient, and if possible, fluent themselves, or a native speaker, so that I can get the best pronunciation help possible.

I am interested in learning Afrikaans because my husband is a native South African. His family speaks Afrikaans and we want to teach our future children to speak the language. I know a few words and can understand what is being said on certain occassions, but would consider myself a beginner.
I want to be able to have general conversation and basic writing skills. The conversation skills are most important to me.
It is hard to say how much time I would be able to dedicate to lessons. This is something I would discuss with my teacher.
I am looking for an instructor that will be able to teach me by email and phone conversations as I have not found anyone in the Nashville area to help me learn.
