I am travelling to Costa Rica in December and would like some knowledge, and also my in-laws are from Chile
I need improvement in conversation and I have not learned any past tense

I was born in Saigon, Vietnam, but came to Canada when I was only 5yrs. I was not sent to Vietnamese school or was not taugh much at home so I do not know how to read or write, and only know how to speak a little Vietnamese. Hello, my friend and I are planning to go to South America this coming spring and are interested in learning Spanish. Enough to be comfortable and able to get around. We both would be at a beginners level.

I have never spoken any Japanese, but I really want to learn and I already am learning French and Sign Language. Why Japanese? 'Cause it's something different. :) I want to learn it around school, so probably after school sometimes or weekends, whatever works. I think I'm pretty good at learning languages, so I'm not really looking for a slow learning process, and I'd really like to learn to write it as well as speak it.
