I believe that I am at the beginner level in terms of proficiency in Mandarin. Considering that Mandarin is spoken by almost one-fourth of the world's population, I think that the urgency to learn the language is very important. Hence, I always encounter Mandarin-spea king people in our workplace. I want to develop my conversation, grammar, reading and writing skills in Mandarin to be able to reach out to them.
The best time for me would be during weekends. Moreover, I am looking for a patient and the kind of teacher who would use various methods in teaching the language so as to keep the atmosphere alive and not boring.

I am going to China this winter, for 3-4 months. I would like to learn some basic chinese that would help me get around, but I need a broad base so that if and when I decide to study the language further, I will have the tools to do so. I would like to learn CHINESE-MANDA RIN for future job opportunities in China. I have absolutely no knowledge yet about this language, which therefore makes me a BEGINNER.
I can take as much as 2x a week lessons and I prefer a classroom type learning with other students.
