I am a beginner. I would like to think Iknow quite a bit of wors, though, having tried to learn the language on my own several times. I have been very interested (I should say obsessed) with the culture since a very young age and I feel it's time to make a real effort to learn the language. I do not need to learn how to write for now, just converse. I would eventually like to read (right now, I am fine with only knowing romaji). Also, pronunciation is very easy for me because I am very fluent in french.I would dedicate 4-5 hours/week to lessons. I would like a teacher who is fun and teaches in more unconventiona l ways than rigidly.

I am still a beginner in Japanese, even though I have taken 1 Japanese course in university. I am learning Japanese because I am planning to go to Japan next year (probably backpacking). I am thinking maybe around 5 hours per week, but that is subjected to adjustment.

Hello, I have teaching my self Japanese when ever i can But lately i have had so many questions. I'm planning on living in japan after my education to pursue not only a career but a new life. Id consider my level at beginner. Area of improvement is pretty much everywhere- i want to be able to talk casually to my acquaintances . Through this site im hoping not only learn a new language but as well meet new people, make new friends.

I really have no knowledge of the Japanese language. I am a big fan of anime, and have learned a few simple words through some of the shows.
Why you are learning your foreign language:
To me the Japanese culture is very interesting, and I wish to go to Japan in my future, and would it be very helpful to know the language. It would also look good on my resgme when I go for a work interview, it's always good to know atleast two languages. If I have a second language on my resgme, it would be helpful to customers that don't speak english.
T he areas in which you feel you need particular improvement:
The areas tha I need improvement are, well pretty much everything. I don't know the dialect, grammar, or how to have a conversation in Japanese, and therefore I would like to learn the language.
How much time you want to dedicate to your language lessons:
I would dedicate as much time as possible to learn, without interfering with my school work.
What qualities you are looking for in your lessons or in your teacher:
I'm looking for a teacher who will take time to fully explain things to me if I don't understand, doesn't rush things, or put too much pressure on me. I am also looking for a teacher to, somehow, make the lesson fun and help me remember important things.
