Description |
Hello. I would like to learn Serbian. The reason why is I have made some friends on youtube and would like to converse with them in their native language and I have fallen in love with the music of Ceca but cannot understand it. That is the main reason I want to learn. I know a couple of words such as Pile & Milo. That is it. I want to dedicate as much time to learning the language as possible.
I am looking for someone who can make the lessons worth while and someone I can learn easily from. Someone who wants to help others.

Description |
Greetings.
My name is Shay; I am 34 years old; I have never taken any language classes (except a semester of Chinese, which I was not good at). But I am very smart, and have excellent long-term retention of things I learn/know. I have spent the last 10-15 years of my life thinking about the United States, and how to solve its problems, and 'put it in a better place.' I have seen MUCH frustration in that time.
Now I would like to focus my energies on Eastern Europe, specifically, Bosnia/Croati a, and possibly Serbia, and the surrounding smaller countries. I would also like to focus on Romania, the Ukraine, the Czech Republic, and possibly Poland, etc.
I have a theory that Germany and Israel can be 'brought together' to 'benefit/watc h out for' all nations on earth. I think that Finland and the Scandinavian countries can prosper other nations as well. (I also really like Japan.)
Pe rhaps this sounds like it is overreaching, but consider this: The world is a place that takes many people, and just rips them apart and destroys them. The world is on fire. Many, many people feel as though they have been abandoned by God.
I believe that if I am thoughtful enough, and determined enough, and 'can put enough pieces of the puzzle together' that I can do things to dramatically improve things. I simply need to get the ball rolling to show what one person can do in order to help these countries live better lives. That is why I am pursuing these different languages.
I would prefer to move to where my teacher is. I am still looking for the money to do that. I have a CDL, if that helps. Right now I am not working. I don't want to discourage any teacher who feels an urge to write to me, but yet I also don't want to oversell my ability to respond. I know you have to pay money to write to me, and I apologize in advance if you write and things don't work out.
I'm the kind of person who would gladly pay the price for something valuable once I have the money to pay for it, but right now, don't have the money YET. (But, yet, I am also the kind of person who makes most, if not all, of his plans in advance. Therefore, when I get the money, I hope to already have my plans in place.
I don't know what else to tell you. Thank you for reading my profile. Please consider whether we may be a good match, and contact me if you feel so inspired. I respect the ability of every teacher on this site.
Than k you.
~Shay .

I am a sophisticated beginner:) I want to learn the Serbian for my work in the Slavic studies. My primary need is to be able to read fluently. I am able to work on this 1-2 times a week. I am looking for a hopefully low-cost solution. Thank you. Daniel
