I am a businessman and live in the city of Boston with my wife and children .I travel to China four to five times a year and have basic self-taught vocabulary of Putonghua .My goal is to reach a proficiency in Mandarin that will allow me to conduct my business more effectively . W hy Learn Chinese: We have a very close relationship now with a family in Taiwan. We hosted their daughter as an exchange student during her year at a Florida high school last year. We have since gone to Taiwan to visit her and her family. Our families are now very closely connected. I would like to be able to communicate with them better in their own language when we call and/or visit each other in the future.
