I certainly am a beginner; I have never been exposed to Chinese. Since I plan to take it this fall during my freshman year of college at the University of Texas at Austin I would like to get a jump-start on learning Chinese. I am a beginner learning Mandarin Chinese, I have been teaching myself so I know a few basics but I feel I could benefit much more with a teacher. I am engaged to a Chinese girl to be married soon, she speaks English and I so would like to learn her native language (she currently still lives in Fuzhou, I have been there two times). I work during the day, so evening or weekend classes would suite me best.

I am a beginner. I would like to learn chinese mandarin through english. I am looking for a teacher who would give personalised attention and not very costly.
