I suppose my level would be beginner, but i have taken a year of japanese in my first year of highschool, so i do have most of the basics down. I really love the culture of japan, but that comes from being influenced from anime, manga, & japanese drama. Next summer i plan on taking a 3 month trip to Japan, so i would like to know enough to get by with. I'm willing to dedicate as much time as i can without interfereing with my school work. As far as the qualities within my lessons or teacher go, i'm lookin for something hands on and interactive.

1. Beginner (had 6 quarters of Japanese in college in 1994, but do not remember much).
2. Learning language to communicate with host students who live at my house.
3. Area of improvement - would like to be able to read hiragana and katakana fluently.
