I'm a beginner and have never spoken or read the language. I am looking to learn Mandarin for career advancement. I need development in grammar and conversation as well as the culture, if possible. I would like to have an hour or two of study each week. I would like someone who has a flexible schedule and is good with beginners. I work about 50-60 hours during the week and sometimes weekends, but would be open to evening lessons and/or weekend lessons.

There are 3 of us (brother and 2 sisters) moving to Hong Kong for eventual work in China in a Humanitarian capacity. Unfortunately , we can only speak English but do need to learn Mandarin for firstly basic conversation, then to proceed further into business matters (we wish to construct small medical centres - open small schools - in poor areas).
We are prepared to pay (return air fare) and even accomodate in Hong Kong for the right person (or it could be a couple, young single mother - even with a young child) - ideally this might be a 12 month position.
An yone interested in the Environment would also be encouraged as this is also of interest to us.
I look forward to your reply - obviously we would like this to be a happy situation for all.

This is really for my family. There are four of us. My two daughters were adopted from China, and we would like for them to learn Mandarin. We are all beginners.
I f we have to travel to Orlando or the Tampa area, then I would say we would like to have a lesson once a month. If there is someone in our county then maybe two times a month.
We are looking for someone to teach my children on their level. They are seven and five, so they would probably enjoy learning songs and such.
