I'm currently learning Japanese now, however I'm learning on my own, so far for 2 months so I'm still a beginner.
I wish to learn Japanese because not only is it fun to speak in another language, but it also would help me when I leave the united states to live in Japan.
Grammar is more of my problem, however I'm really interested and would spend qaulity time learning something that I will put to use so that I can live in another language besides my native one.
What I feel makes a great teacher is one that don't rush the lessons, but teach with enthusiasm and motivates the student along the way.

I AM LOOKING FOR A TUTOR IN JAPANESE FOR MY 14 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER. SHE HAS HAD AN INTRODUCTION TO THE LANGUAGE THROUGH ANOTHER TUTOR WE LOST TOUCH WITH DUE TO MOVING. I am a beginner and am willing to dedicate up to 10 hours per week to language lessons. I am learning Japanese because I want to live in Japan for 3 - 6 months next year and want to be able to converse with people. Also, I am currently traveling to take courses from Japanese teachers and need a translator to understand what they are saying. I want to be able to understand without a translator. I am 16 years old, and I want to learn how to speak the Japanese language. It would be great to learn how to read/write it also, but I am not asking for that. I plan on going to Japan for a long time after Highschool, and perhaps even majoring in Asian studies. So I think knowing this language will help me a lot. As for time, I can arrange any times with the tutor, but I am very dedicated to learning, and want to meet at least 3 days a week. I am usually not very busy, other than school from 7:50am-2:45pm . For qualities in the teacher, I look for someone who fully knows and understands everything about the language, and someone who has expierience in teaching. Also, someone who is nice! Hehe.
