I recently returned from Shanghai where I spent 15 months working. Whilst I was there, I had two hours of 'survival chinese' conversation lessons a week. Given that I needed to get around, buy food etc, I was only interested in grasping the basics, however now I wouldn't mind trying my hand at some characters and reading. However, I still want the main emphasis to be on discussion. As I am currently expecting my first baby, I am only able to have two hours of tuition a week.

I am planning to try working in Shanghai. To avoid a huge language barrier, I want to study speaking Chinese. I have had no lessons whatsoever so I will be starting from scratch.
I think my schedule can handle about 1-3 lessons per week. My time is not fixed so time for the lessons would vary.
I think I would be more interested in joining a small class rather than have a one-on-one tutorial.
