I am a beginner when it comes to learning Slovene. Currently I am studying other languages out of interest; German, Italian and Spanish. I would like to study Slovene with the aid of a tutor but I have been unable to find anyone locally. I would like to be able to communicate in Slovene.I would also like to improve my German conversation skills if there is anyone locally to help me with that I would appreciate their contacting me.

I am a first-generat ion American. Both of my parents are Slovenian and immigrated to the United States in 1954. Sadly, I never learned to speak Slovenian as a child. I am now 30 years old, married, and have a baby daughter. My wife and I are both interested in learning to speak Slovenian. I know a few words and phrases and have a fair understanding of the pronunciation from listening to my parents, but I am definitely a beginner. My wife and I live in Brooklyn and would like to take lessons weekly or every two weeks at first. We are both very serious about learning and felt that a personal teacher rather than book/tape instruction would provide more incentive.

I am a beginner and want to learn slovenian because i am slovenian. My dad´s side of the family came to america. I hope to learn to speak slovenian in a couple of months or however long it takes.
