I am a first-generat ion American. Both of my parents are Slovenian and immigrated to the United States in 1954. Sadly, I never learned to speak Slovenian as a child. I am now 30 years old, married, and have a baby daughter. My wife and I are both interested in learning to speak Slovenian. I know a few words and phrases and have a fair understanding of the pronunciation from listening to my parents, but I am definitely a beginner. My wife and I live in Brooklyn and would like to take lessons weekly or every two weeks at first. We are both very serious about learning and felt that a personal teacher rather than book/tape instruction would provide more incentive.

I am a beginner and want to learn slovenian because i am slovenian. My dad´s side of the family came to america. I hope to learn to speak slovenian in a couple of months or however long it takes. I am a beginner and interested in learning Slovenian in order to communicate with family members in Slovenia. My understanding and use of the language is very, basic.
I would like to commit approximately two hours per week to study and would enjoy learning in a small group environment if possible.

I spoke only slovenian as a child until I entered kindergarten. I am at a beginner level. I can understand some slovenian, but not a lot and I can barely speak the language anymore. I would prefer to improve in my conversationa l skills--I have family in Slovenija and would like to be able to converse with them over email in slovenian and speak with them when I visit.
I would like to attend classes every week.
I would like to learn in a group setting.
I am 26 years old, attending Uof T.
