I'm learning English since five years and so I think, I can class myself into the 'intermediate '-level.
I need the English for my profession, because I'm going to study something in the hotel-brach and this is also the reason why I think it would be great to take some lessons especially with conversation but also with grammar, in view of the CAE-test (or perhaps TOEFL) I have to absolve.
My studies are going to start in April 2006 and so I'm going to attend apractical in England. After this stay (where I want to take these language-less ons in English) I will do the test, I need for these studies.
And so, I think that the qualities of the teacher should be well, that I learn a lot in the time, I am in England (half a year).

I curently reside in Germany, but will be in the U.S.A. in June for about 6 months to one year and will subsequently immigrate.
I wish to learn to speak the English language so that I may communicate effectively in everyday situations mainly where conversation is involved.
I speak a little English now and have been taking elementary lesson in Germany. There is no opportunity to practice speech except for a few hours per week in the classroom. The instruction is not intense and the teacher is not versed well in the English language. However, my friend residing in the States can provide me with practice.
My time will be fairly unlimited while in the States for schooling purposes.
The qualities I am seeking in a teacher and the lessons involved, are that they get to the point with lessons that have immediate practical application to everyday situations. I prefer someone with a great deal of patience and a warm, friendly personality.

I am inquiring on behalf of my wife, who is Thai. She wants to learn English to a fluent level and basic computer use(internet, files, etc.) as well as some office type programs (Microsoft office, Linux or other). I believe that we will send her to a school for the basic English, as I think 4-6 hours a day 5 days a week for private lessons would be beyond our budget, BUT we would be interested in a private computer teacher for about 2 hours a day, 4-5 days a week. That would be after she returns from english school in the afternoons. She is very dedicated to learning both English and computers. Arrangements could be made for you to meet at an Internet Cafe daily for lessons, or when an Internet connection is not nescesary, if you had a laptop, it could be done at her apartment. We would of course pay the Internet Cafe bill. She is somewhat intimated by computers, but an education would solve this. She will probably start her education in December. She resides in Bangkok.
