I have just started work for a chinese manufacturer and wish to learn Chinese Mandarin to aid communication to the management and plant engineers.
I would need to start at basic level and build up to full conversationa l level over a period of time. As I will have to visit China a number of times a year it would be nice to be able comminicate on a social basis as well as business.
I would like to understand and follow etiquette and politeness and the culture of the chinese people.I have been amazed by the history, character and depth of the country.I want to know and understand more.
I would look towards intially a couple of hours per week tuition perhaps becomimg more intensive as trips become planned.
I would like the teacher to be patient and honest in their approach and look forward to the challenge of developing a fun programme of learning geared to my abilities.

I have no experience with Mandarin Chinese. In considering traveling to China in March I would like to practice the language as much as possible. My only interest is in conversationa l Mandarin. Over the next month i might be able to attend classes 3x per week. I work best with friendly and direct teachers.

I would like to learn Mandarin Chinese. I am an absolute beginner. I would like to learn for many reasons. I am currently learning kung fu, I enjoy playing Go (Wei Chi) and I think learning Mandarin would be interesting. I am mostly interested in learning to converse, but I would like to learn reading and writing, too. I feel grammer is very important in speaking and writing.
I would like a teacher that is easy-going and knowledgable. Two or three lessons per week would be fine. Homework every night would not be a problem.
