Having travelled in Barcelona the last 2 years I have a tiny knowledge of the Catalan language, not being able to speak any apart from bare essentials ie ask for directions, order food but have spent time listeninng to it and pronounciatio n. Having fallen in love with the city I plan to try living there in the next 2 years and need to learn conversationa l skills mainly as I plan to work in a bar. I would like to be able to study twice a week, perhaps one day and one night.
Hav ing studied a little Italian I realise I need one or one lessons with a teacher who is prepared to explain in English and then rehash a number of times. I would also appreciate being able to contact them when studying independently . Most importanly, I'd like the lessons to have a 'social' feel so they feel more practical.

I'm in between intermediate and the nwxt level but I wouldn't say I was advanced. I Can hold good conversations with my south american friends and undersatnd, presnt past and bit of future tenses.
I want to become as fluent as I can by the summer, when I go out to Peru.
I think I need to improve my grammer as well as my vocab and verb base.
I'm looking for a couple hours a week.
For a teacher, I would just like someone who can teach me the grammer while I can also practice converstion skills that will be of use in south america.

I am a beginning student of Catalan. I have several books, computer programs and language tapes but have found that I am not getting very far.
I have been to Barcelona and would like to go back again speaking the language fluently.
This winter I am planning to spend two weeks in rural Catalunya as part of a farming exchange program (WWOOF.org) to help with the olive harvest and have my first real experience trying to speak Catalan.
I could spend two hours a week on lessons until November. After November, I could spend as many hours as necessary.
I am looking for a teacher with a sense of humor who can expertly explain grammar to someone who may not understand the technical nuances right away.
I will need to take lessons primarily via email with telephone conversations to help develop accentuation and pronounciatio n.
I am willing to pay a reasonable price for lessons and would like to plan to take lessons for at least 1 year.

I am a 21 year old university student studying french and spanish. I am more or less fluent in french and spanish and am learning basic catalan. I feel I need to learn catalan for my degree and need to improve in all areas. I want to have a lesson of an hour a week and I am looking for an outgoing, friendly teacher who preferably speaks good spanish and english.
