I am very interested in learning Amharic. I want to do it because I like to learn and for no other reason. I chose Amharic because of my interactions with the Ethiopian culture while living in Atlanta.
My proficiency is beginner so I will need help in all areas.
I can dedicate at least an hour a day during the week or 4 hours in any particular day during the week.
The qualities I am looking for is really to become proficient in speaking it as opposed to reading and writing it. I feel I will come in contact with more people who speak it than with literature.

Half Habesha, half American, I have always grown up hearing Amharic but have never had formal instruction in it. I wish to learn the basics (grammar, syntax, verb conjugation) to improve my comprehension and speaking skills.
I am ideally looking to integrate a weekly Amharic class but would be interested in private tutoring, too. I am looking for someone who has had experience teaching/tuto ring a language and is fluent in amharic and english or french.
