I am currently in s relationship with an Indian girl, and would like to learn Gujarati so that I can talk to her parents in their native language.
My girlfriend was born in London, and whilst she has some basic knowledge and understanding , she would also like to learn to become more fluent.
I think that we would both start from a beginner level and build from there.
I do not have any other languages apart from English, and so I am unsure how many hours a week should be dedicated to learning, however I am keen to learn, and am willing to listen to advice regarding this.

I am looking to pass the JLPT level 5 exam. I have been studying Japanese for about 2 years using he textbook Minna no Nihingo. As a diplomat, I was forced to leave Moscow in November 2011 for an assignment that made it impossible to keep a regular lesson schedule. I am now looking to get back into Japanese so I can return on the long term path o fluency.
I would like to have two lessons per week in order to keep the pace. I love studying Kanji and am looking forward to getting back my lost conversationa l skills in Japanese as I am very much interested in studying the culture and history of Japan, one day in Japanese.
