I have been to Brazil and studied the basics...I have had 2 years of high school spanish that helped me in Sao Paulo when I visited. I am learning this language because I plan to go back soon and live there for a few years. I am not planning on going for at least 1 year and I would like to be a little more than conversationa l. I need improvement in every area...I want to be able to dedicate a lot of time to it...like a college course. The kind of teacher I am looking for is one who will push me to really dig into learning portuguese but will also have patience with me so that I do not feel terrible if I learn slower than I would like to.

Hi,
My name is Lynn and I am very intersted in learning to speak swahili. My boyfriend is from Kenya and that is his native language. His mother is coming to visit in february and I would love to surprise him with being able to speak in their language. It would mean so much to them both.
My main focus is to be able to carry a general conversation to be social. I'm sure once I learn the basics then he'll be able to help me along the way. I have a busy schedule but I am willing to dedicate 2 or 3 evenings/nigh ts per week. I am looking for someone that won't get easily frustrated with me while learning and someone who really understands how important it is to me to learn to speak the language.

I would like to begin Arabic, having no previous experience.
I am in high school, so intentions of career advancement or travel, etc, would perhaps apply in the future; my main motivations are interest in language in general and for literary purposes, i.e. poetry.
Ideally I would have 1-2 hours of lessons per week, with however much time necessary dedicated to practicing between lesssons.
I am looking for experience and flexibility with scheduling. Also, flexibility of location of lessons would be helpful.
