I have been to Ethiopia three times for a month each. With only three months of experience there total, my proficiency level is very low (beginner). I want to learn Amharic for career advancement. I'd like to teach there. I need help in everything. I may even need to know how to write in Amharic to be admitted into the Masters program I am interested in. I think I will be able to dedicate at least a four to five hours a week, but I know I need to dedicate more to learn it as fast as I'd like to. I would like some one that knows the dialect more widely spoken in Addis Ababa. And, they would have to be strategic with me so that I could learn well. I'd like to be constantly making learning a 'fresh' thing so that I don't ultimately get discouraged.

I am really eager to learn Amharic i understand a lot but I can only respond with one word . It is hard for me to form a complete sentance that actually makes sence in Amharic. I would like to commit at least one hour a day if possible or either meet once a week for lessons what ever it takes I will do it.I am tired of people having to translate for me it has began to affect me at home,church, and jokes are just not funny when people have to explain them to you I want to laugh with everyone .I feel as if everyone is laughing at me . Please someone help me God will bless you :-)
