I have never taken Mandarin Chinese before, but I am very interested in their culture and would like to be an exchange student there in S4. I wish to learn conversationa l skills first and then go more in depth into phrases and things I should know while I am living there. I would preferably like a women teacher who is patient with me and can give me a deeper understanding of China. I would like 2-3 hours of lesson's a week.

I will be moving to China at end of 2004. I have 1st level Mandarin proficiency already but now need to progress rapidly to business level.
I am interested in speech and litening only; no reading or writing required.
I learnt 1st level Mandarin using the pinyin system but am willing to be flexible.
As this is very important to my business career I am willing to put in considerable hours per week to reach my desired level by end of 2004.

I have just started work for a chinese manufacturer and wish to learn Chinese Mandarin to aid communication to the management and plant engineers.
I would need to start at basic level and build up to full conversationa l level over a period of time. As I will have to visit China a number of times a year it would be nice to be able comminicate on a social basis as well as business.
I would like to understand and follow etiquette and politeness and the culture of the chinese people.I have been amazed by the history, character and depth of the country.I want to know and understand more.
I would look towards intially a couple of hours per week tuition perhaps becomimg more intensive as trips become planned.
I would like the teacher to be patient and honest in their approach and look forward to the challenge of developing a fun programme of learning geared to my abilities.
