I am looking to learn to speak conversationa l Nepali. I have been visiting Nepal for the past 8 years, however am just a beginner in learning this language. I have many friends there in Nepal, and would also eventually like to teach there myself. I would be willing to devote several hours a week for classes or lessons. I am looking for an instructor who is fluent in Nepali as well as English. I live in Chicago, Illinois on the north side. I am an elementary educator by profession, currently teaching fifth graders.

I know a little bit of Nepali already, but still very basic. I would like to learn Nepali so I can live there for some time and continue with the non-profit work I am doing. I need improvement everywhere. I would like to dedicate a few hours a week to Nepali lessons. I am looking for someone who is going to be helpful, but patient when I am having difficulties. I need someone who encourages self-directed learning, not someone who will spoon-feed answers.
