I WOULD LIKE TO FIND A TUTOR FOR THE JAPANESE LANGUAGE AND CULTURE. I HAVE A CHILD VERY EAGER TO LEARN THE LANGUAGE FOR FUTURE ABROAD STUDIES IN JAPAN. I am a girl interested in learning Japanese. I am at the beginning level, most likely the least possible level. I would like to learn Japanese because the Japanese culture has always fascinated me and I hope to someday pursue a career involving Japan, and a knowledge of the language would certainly help me reach that goal. I also want to be able to enter a Japanese II course in a few years time, so I must be adequately prepared. I would need schooling in all areas of the Japanese language- conversation, writing, reading... All of it. I could dedicate a few hours on Saturday or Sunday for lessons, but most likely not any days during the week because my workload is already very heavy. I am a very goal-oriented and hard working student, so you could be sure that I would not take lessons lightly. I would like for my instructor to be someone who can understand the workload I am already under and will try his or her best to help me along as needed. I am aware that Japanese will be challenging, so I need someone kind and supportive to guide me through the difficulties. Most importantly, my teacher would need to be nearby, in the area surrounding Dallas, so that I can easily take lessons in person. Please help teach me!

I am a beginner. i have been attempting to learn for a couple of years by self study, but can only get so far without instruction. my main problem at the moment is conversationa l skills because i have no one that speaks the language to practice with. I am very eager to learn and would happily dedicate a couple hours a week for lessons, and would love a tutor that is easy to work with and fun. i have the nakama I text book and a friend that is learning as well.

I'm a beginner who has been trying to learn on her own. I have the Nakama 1 text book and am about half way through, but I need help with conversaition skills, though I don't know how badly because I don't know anyone who speaks Japanese. I'd like to practice at least several hours a week with instruction, and more on my own free time. I'm looking for a private instructor who can easily work around my crazy schedule and is a lot of fun! Also, I have a friend who is also trying to learn and would like instruction as well.

Why do I want to learn Chinese and Japanese?
Studying other languages and learning about world culture is a huge passion of mine. Last summer, I lived in Japan for about 2 months (on a foreign exchange program). I was lucky enough to have the experience of everyday life and learning with a family in Japan.
This year, I will be going on another full year exchange program to Taiwan. I am very excited to learn more about Chinese culture, with a Chinese family, and I am interested in learning how to speak Mandarin (starting now, before I get there...)
My proficiency level:
I am a beginner in Mandarin Chinese. I know I still have lots of work to do!
My foreign language experience:
I have been studying Japanese for just about two years.
I had studied Spanish in school for over five years.
How much time do I want to dedicate:
A lot! A little on my own everyday, and at least once or twice a week (which would be awesome) with a teacher. I really want to delve into Mandarin as much as I can before I will be travelling there this fall...
Wh at qualities am I looking for:
A person who really would like to teach Mandarin! (haha) A person who would share some fun conversationa l skills, and useful tips, along with the 'chapter'. A person who likes to be versatile with learning, and have fun! :)
