I am a fairly advanced learner of Hindi and Urdu, but stronger in written Hindi than written Urdu. Although advanced, I have never really conquered them and would like to increase fluency in both languages, probably primarily focussed on conversation, and if reading and writing, then probably a stronger focus on Urdu as I am weaker in Urdu. I like a teacher who does put in some time and effort, and can identify the student's needs, and work on those in a positive, encouraging manner - instilling self confidence is essential.

I am learning Urdu for work purposes. I have attended a 20 hour beginners Urdu language course at SOAS. As of 4th January I would like to do lessons of 1hr 30 mins three times a week in the morning for two months. I am particularly interested in developing speaking as I will also look to start learning some Hindi in the future. I can read and write Urdu script. I have followed the Teach Yourself Urdu series and would be happy to continue following that, but am open to other methods of learning. Ideally any teacher would be able to demonstrate experience / qualification s before we started lessons.
