I'm learning Norwegian to help with a doctorate I'll be starting in September comparing land policy in Norway and Scotland at Strathclyde and Oslo universities. I have tried a couple of course like Pisleur, but I am basically a beginner. I need to be able to read academic Norwegian articles. I can spend up to 5 hours a week to learn. This is a bit tough for me because I am a good speaker but less keen on grammar! I also have a sense of humour and hope a new teacher wont be completely serious!

I would like to learn the Bulgarian language as my wife is Bulgarian and speaks fluent English.
I would like to be able to go to Sofia and be able to converse with my friends there.
I have a book and cassette on the Bulgarian language. I know the Bulgarian alphabet and can read in Bulgarian but do not know the meaning of the words
I would like to spend as much time as possible to learn the language.
I would like the quality of the tutor to be very good.

Hi, my wife and I would like to learn Turkish because we have a holiday home in Tuzla Bodrum, we intend spending allot of time there and this is long term. When abroad the british have a bad habit of expecting people to speak English, we want to learn the language and there customs as to get a greater understanding not to offend the turkish people. We speak no Turkish at all so we will need to start at basic level and we would want to learn face to face with a native Turkish speaker. We are looking for a few hours a week and our aim is to do this long term hopefully increasing the amount of time taking classes. This is for my wife and I and we are about 10 miles outside Edinburgh so we can travel or learn face to face at our home.
