Hi I have been studying Tibetan for many years now. I studied Tibetan at the University of Virginia in Charlottesvil le in their intensive Tibetan summer program. I also lived in Qinghai for 3 years and was able to study with a tutor there. I would like to continue my studies. My reading is better than my oral skills.
I have also studied Chinese for many years. My oral skills are much better than my reading. I have only studied reading for 1 year and my writing is very poor. I would like to improve my Chinese writing skills.

I would like to learn Tibetan language because I am very interested in Tibetan Culture. Specifically, I am currently a student of Tibetan Herbal Medicine learning from a Tibetan Doctor. I would like to be able to read and write some Tibetan as well as be able to hold some basic conversations . Learning Tibetan would greatly help and compliment my learning of Tibetan medicine. I am very beginner. I would like to spend 1-2 hours a week for several months learning Tibetan. If need be I could spend more hours per week for less months. I will be in Bangalore from Sept 2014-Dec 2014. I am looking for a teacher who is fluent in both Tibetan and English and is able to meet with me in Bangalore.
