I am looking for a teacher who would be able to help my family with three areas of Chinese learning:
1. I would like to learn more conversationa l Cantonese. I am approximately at an intermediate level. I learned some Cantonese as a child. I will be travelling next year to China and hope to be in the Hong Kong/Guangdon g area. I hope to be more accurate with grammar and to learn more vocabulary. I would like to have lessons approximately 60 - 90 minutes a week.
2. I am also looking for someone who would also be willing to teach my children Cantonese (songs, stories, colours, numbers, basic phrases etc.)
3. My husband and I would like to learn a little bit of Mandarin (enough for basic travel purposes). We know no Mandarin.
I am looking for a native speaking Cantonese teacher who is friendly, flexible and innovative. Someone reliable and commited to teaching.

I want to learn farsi because it might help me in the future dealing with people. I can read and write farsi but just I dont know what it means. I would like to speak it more fluently. The time i spend on my lessons just depends on the time i have.Iam looking for a teacher that would be kind enogh to teach me the language and would not care what kind of back ground the person comes from as long as they want to learn.Also I would perfer a lady tutor.

I am interested in learning Brazilian Portugese because my partner is Brazilian. His family moved here 1 year ago and I would very much like to communicate with them. They are learning English to communicate more effecively and therefore I would like to learn Portugese. I have already taken a level 1 course at Langara College last year and enjoyed it very much. While in this course I studied every night, I wanted to learn quickly, however, when they didn't offer a level 2 class due to class size I became very un-motivated. I have not done any self study since that class and therefore have fallen behind. I feel that I could catch up quickly though. My teacher at Langara was very nice, however, not very motivating. I found that because we didn't have any tests I sometimes found it easy not to do the work. What I am looking for in a teacher is someone that can challenge me in all aspects of the language as well as the culture. It's not easy dating someone from another culture. The amount of time that I would like to spend with a teacher would probably be 2 times a week for 1-1.5 hours a night. I do shift work Monday thru Friday between the hours of 6:30am and 8:00pm so I would need someone that is flexible.
