I would like to gain more knowledge in my background language because I want to be able to communicate with my family in portuguese. I am able to read some portuguese and speak very basic. I can understand way more then i can speak. I need imporovement in speaking and having confidence to have converstaions with people. Depending on when the classes are held (during school), i will like to take as much time as i need too to learn. I want a teacher that is patient and a teacher that wont give up on me. I want to be able to feel comfortable in the setting i am placed in (classroom, classmates)

I am interested in either a french or Italian conversation teacher. No Quebecois french but true Parisian french is preferred. I want to learn these languages as I will be traveling there in a few months and am thinking of living in either France or Italy for a while. I need someone who is flexible with schedules and is willing to tutor me at least 3 times a week for 1 hour. I am eager to learn to read and speak these two languages.

I want to learn Korean because I am planning on going to Korea to teach for 1 or 2 years starting September 2011. I wish to also go back abroad after completing grad school- thus is my 5 year plan.
My proficiency is minimal. I can read a few characters and I know limited phrases such as 'thank you' 'my name is... nice to meet you' 'I like this' among a few. I can order food in Korean, however my comprehension is next to nothing.
Ideally I was looking for someone I can sit down with once a week for one or two hours at a time. I wish to start this in January 2011 and continue until I depart for Korea.
I'm a visual learner, so I learn best by writing, speaking or doing. Writing materials and conversation would be ideal.

Hello,
My name is Tonya and I would like to learn conversationa l italian. I am a school teacher in Mississauga and have been teaching for 8 years. I usually teach at the intermediate level (grade 7/8).
I have always wanted to learn italian because I am in fact part italian (on my father's side). More recently, however, I am contemplating teaching abroad for the following school year. My first choice of places to teach is Italy. I think it would be an amazing experience but also a little scary with the language barrier.
I am looking for a teacher who has obviously a lot of patience and also someone who can speak italian very well.
I think I would like to start off by having one lesson/week and then play it by ear.

I wish to learn French, and indeed any other language, primarily out of cultural interest. I also want to expand my own horizons with reagrds to future careers and academics.
I do not speak French at any level, as thus I am a beginner.
