I am looking to learn Japanese from the ground up through a business level of the language. I did a study abroad in Japan in 2005 and took very basic Japanese and I have recently been practicing my hiragana and katakana again. I still remember a very little bit of the language, but definitely would like to be able to communicate on a business level to try and find a job other than teaching English in Japan. I would be willing to dedicate 2-4 hours a week on in person lessons and as much time as needed in homework and supplemental materials. I work at night, so lessons during the day would be ideal if possible. I need a teacher that is able to accommodate someone who may not be the fastest learner when it comes to language. I have the drive and motivation to learn this language and will dedicate as much time as needed to get to the level I want to be in.

I want to learn about how to speak Japanese because I have always wanted to go and vist Japan ever since I first started to watch anime in the 3rd grade. I am now in the 8th grade. My proficiency level in Japanese is beginner, but I have learned some words from watching anime. The particular area I need improvement in is pronuctionati on. Since I only have a month and some days left till school I would like to put in alot of hours to learn Japanese. The qualities I am looking for in the lesson is to make it fun, but also serious and the qualities I'm looking for in the teacher is to teach me the best she can.

I'm hoping to go to a language school in Japan for two years in 2014-15 and would like a teacher for one-on-one conversation practice and help with grammar. I have already been to Japan and was able to talk to people and travel with no issues with communication , but have forgotten a lot since then. I'd like to be able to have full conversation ability by 2014 before I start my language class so the transition is easier.

Hi, I'm a Japanese/Fili pino American looking to learn Japanese for several reasons. Firstly, I love the language. Secondly I'd love to stay in Japan for a while, maybe try to teach English or just go and absorb the culture. Lastly, if and when I have children I would like to teach them our language and culture. Too many Japanese Americans don't speak Japanese and I would like to be able to give my children what I wished I had.
I've already taken 3 classes at a community college and am very committed to learning. I would take another but my school is not currently offering it. :( I will work hard and am sure will flourish with the right guidance.
I would say I'm between beginner and intermediate.
I truly want to become conversationa lly fluent, and grammar is important. My writing is not bad, but I have forgotten most of my Kanji. I have text books from school if you want to use them.
Qualities I would like in a teacher is really just someone friendly and makes learning fun and interesting. Also someone that has a lesson plan is important. A good mix of lessons and conversation is all I really need.
I would like either have lessons at your house or my house (I have dogs but can put them away while you're here). 1 or 2 hour lessons would be great, once or twice a week, I'm open. Please tell me your rates.
I live in Mission Hills, very close to downtown San Diego and Hillcrest. Closest freeways are I-5 and I-163.
