I want to speak Cantonese, my level is beginner. Started to learn myself, watching movies, listening to tapes, but this is quite difficult. I already can speak fairly good Mandarin. Am fluent in English, French.
I want to know especially how Cantonese differs from Mandarin. Want to learn grammar and be able to chat with Cantonese speaking friends.

I am a native chinese speaker who graduated from college two years ago. Now I am working for a foreign company. My main responsibilit y is negotiation and co-ordination with our foreign client.
The areas in which I feel that I need to improvement is grammar. Moreover, presentation English. Somehow, I have make some presentations for our client in English.

Beginner in French.
I live with 2 French people and have a friends circle that's French. Problem is, I can only speak very BASIC french, certainly not enough to have a conversation.
I speak fluent German and Intermediate Chinese, and would love to have French too.
I'd like to study/talk French for 3-4 hours per week. Then I can easily apply what I learn through the help my my housemates.
I want to learn conversationa l French. I'm not too worried about writing and reading. Pronunciation is important and vocabulary. Grammar rules of course are necessary, but I don't mind making grammar mistakes if people can still talk with me and understand my meaning.
T he teacher needs to be patient with me, but push me forward and try to speak as much French with me as possible, not a lot of English.

I am just a beginner of French and hope to learn the lovely language from a native speaker. French is one of the most popular European languages in the world today and having a good command of French will definitely brighten my job prospects and achieve personal satisfaction. I just love foreign languages very much. I hope to learn French for everyday communication first. So the focus should be on oral communication in real life situations. I hope to get immersed in a French-speaki ng environment, but generally I would like to devote at least 2-3 hours each day to learning French. For me, the most important is to learn the language from a native speaker who is well educated and has many years of experience in teaching French to international students. Of course, he/she has to be patient and has the know-how of second language acquisition.
