I am a complete beginner. I am an older student and I work full time in telecom. I want to know Chinese because I feel I would be more marketable. I do not know if I can afford private lessons, but I would like to know the cost. I would like to have at least one lesson in person per week and online work, also. The method I have learned in other languages in my youth emphasized drilling and writing, but not much conversation. That would be important if I am to use it at all.

I am a complete beginner when it comes to Chinese, but would like to become at least conversationa lly fluent to prepare myself for a possible relocation to China with my company. I have plenty of time to learn and would be willing to dedicate several hours per week to learning the language as well as commit to plenty of practice on my own.
The qualities I'd like to see in my teacher would be structure in learning, organized approach, professional, fun, and previous experience in teaching the language.

I am seeking a teacher who likes working with children. My 5 year old Chinese-Ameri can daughter has reasonable comprehension , but is being raised in an English speaking home.
Until recently she met with a native Mandarin speaking woman to 'learn through play' for 90 minutes, 4x per week. We would like to find a similar arrangement near or in our home.
Ther e is at least one other child in the area who would like to do this with her, a younger boy. We may be able to add a few other children if this were desirable.
