I am looking to learn portuguese as a 2nd language to communicate with family. I am a beginner and only know a few words from spending a summer in portugal as a child. Would like myself and my 15 yr old daughter to take a private lesson weekly together for an hour or so. Just looking for someone who will make it a fun and enjoyable experience.

I am interested in learning to speak Portuguese because my fiance is from Portugal and would like to be able to communicate with his family without the need of him translating, I would also like to be fluent in the language so that when I have children they too can share in a second language.
I can understand some of the conversations that I am around; however I am limited to what I can respond with. I mostly know general conversation Eg: Hi, how are you? etc. I can count to 10 and that is about as far as I have gotten.
I am will to dedicate as much time as possible to learning the language.
I am looking for a teacher that uses different ways to teach and to keep the lessons fun and interesting and one that takes the time to make sure that the information is truly being understood and not judging the student.

I'm a beginner Portuguese learner. I prefer Brazilian Portuguese. I'm a professional translator (6 languages) and have been learning languages for more than 20 years. I'd like to learn PO(BR) out of general interest. Three to four hours a week would suffice. I'm a very fast learner. I'd like a teacher who can motivate me through interesting lessons geared to hone conversationa l skills. I can read about grammar and boost vocabulary on my own.
I would also like to learn Italian, Icelandic, Slovenian and Serbian/Croat ian for the same reasons.

The main reason I would like to learn Portuguese is because my girlfriend was born and portugal and can speak portuguese. I would like to be able to share this ability with her and learn a new language in general.
I would be considered new to the language and would require alot of learning.
A day or two a week for lessons.
I am looking for a teacher that can be patient towards an extreme beginner and who is able to teach a beginner esssentialy from scratch.
