My wife and I are trying to expand on our begginer level Thai so that we are more able to communicate with our friends and family in Thailand. We need to advance in vocab, structure, pronunciation , conversation, everything really. Our desire is to focus on verbal skills first and reading writing second. I'm a beginner. I speak chinese, so I understand the concept of tone.
I'm learning Thai because language itself intrigues me and I have many Thai friends in Bangkok and Chiang Mai that I'd like to surprise with a basic understand when I go in 8 months.
Un derstanding the grammar of a language is very helpful so i can piece it together...bu t practice is the most important.
Willing to dedicate 3 hours a week in class and I will do my own studying outside of the classroom. I'm very busy but will make the effort.
Looking for a teacher who is patient and not going to sit in a class and do listen and repeat sessions. I expect more work on conversation than anything else.
