I am seeking to learn this foreign language as I have plans to eventually relocate over there. I also have some connections within the country, therefore it would be ideal to converse in the native language.
While I know a couple of words and phrases, I would state my proficiency to be at a beginners level.
I have a particular interest on the conversationa l aspect of the language, although I would also like to be proficient with grammar.
I am willing to commit to 2/4 hours per week, depending on my own and the tutor's work schedule.
I would appreciate if the Lesson plans were of a detailed and varied enough level, so that within six-twelve months, I have a relatively good grasp of both the written and oral aspects of the language.

I want to learn Tagalog because my girlfriend is Filipino. We are serious in our relationship and I want to know how to talk to her friends, family and one day our children. It's very important to me but I am at the beginner level. I need to be taught everything, words, phrases and more or less how to understand the language. We are going to the Philippines next April so I have roughly 1 year to learn as much as possible. I'm looking for a teacher (male or female) who has patience and likes teaching. I'm serious and very dedicated to learning this language and so far I haven't been able to find a school/privat e tutor.

My Grandparents are from the Philippines. I was born in S.L.C. I understand several words but I am a beginner.
I' m interested in learning to speak fluently by this fall. I am willing to dedicate 1 hour every other week, working up to maybe 1 hour a week. I would like a teacher who is proficient in teaching, not just someone who happens to be Filipino and speaks Tagalog, since I can easily get that from my Grandma & Grandpa who live up the street from me.
