My significant other lives in Germany and I am looking to learn German so that I may communicate with his friends and family. In addition I will be moving to Germany in the future and will need to have the basic speaking skills. My son is a homeschool highschool student and chose to learn German for his two years of a foreign language. We bought a 2-year German curriculum called Power-Glide, and he has been studying the book and listening to the CD's but is not doing very well. I was looking for some additional tutoring for German. My husband is German and I would like to learn basic German conversation to communicate with his mother. I am a beginner at the German language; I took one class at NYU last winter and 10 private lessons in 2008. I would like the focus of the lesson to be on conversation.
I am prepared to take one lesson per week (60-90 minutes) and I would like a teacher who is flexible in case I can not meet for a week or two. The price per lesson needs to be reasonable.
