I am a complete beginner in Chinese. I travel to China at least once per year (ostensibly to play golf, but plan to travel further afield), and would like to become comfortable in the language. I have found that CD language programs can only go so far, and would like to obtain the services of a personal tutor. I am retired (young), and so have the time and resources to apply to my study of the language. I am looking for a personable teacher, who can make learning interesting while keeping me on track and providing the conversationa l and structural needs so essential to the learning process. I tend to be fairly aggressive in my learning curve, and can usually apply myself quite diligently.

I want to continue learning Japanese. I have recently returned to the US after living in Japan for a couple of years. I still consider myself a beginner. I can read/write Hiragana, most Katakana but very few Kanji. I think listening and grammar are weakest areas. More interested in learning Kansai-ben but just studying Japanese is most important. I would like to spend two to three hours per week studying (1 two hour session/wk or 2 one and a half hour sessions/wk).

Hi,
I'm from the UK but have been living and working in Dallas, TX for the past two and a half years.
Las t year I spent a couple of months skiing in Chamonix, France and I am looking at doing something similar in the future. I am also considering working in Europe (e.g. Brussels) and feel that learning French would be beneficial to both experiences!
Even though I'm from the UK I didn't pursue French language at school (which I now regret) so I'm looking to take some lessons.
F urther information:
(1) I am a complete beginner in French.
(2) I am interested in learning conversationa l French. I would rather concentrate on this and get a good grounding before attempting to read/write French.
(3) I am interested in private lessons.
(4) I would be looking to meet up once a week in the evening for 1-2 hours (also depending on what the teacher recommends).
(5) I would prefer to meet at my apartment in Plano.
