I am at the beginner level in the Japanese language. I am studing language as a college major prior to attending law school. I definately need assistance in pronuciation and sentence structure (mainly verb use). I am currently attending college so I can not spend as much time as I would like, however I have a solid eight hours a week to devote. I would like my professor to have a native level in the Japanese language.

I am a beginner with relatively no language skills in japanese. I do understand other languages, and have been able to pick up a significant amount of a language by simply watching movies with subtitles. I am now interested in Japanese because I am going to visit Japan within the next year and would like to be able to enjoy it as much as possible while not being a burden by not being able to converse in Japanese while I'm there. I am also very interested in japanese literature. I have to search for a teacher because I enjoy personal settings, but also because my school does not offer japanese at this time. In a teacher I would require someone who can explain the concepts of the language to me rather than simply asking me to memorize things with no explaination.

I am 26 and would like to start to learn Mandarin. Traditional and simplified writing as well. I have spent a few months in Taiwan and would like to go back there with a good understanding of Mandarin. However, I would like to learn more mainland (Bejing) pronunciation cause I was told that it would be more versitile. I live in Washington DC and would like someone who is nice, friendly, and patient. =) I am willing to dedicate a lot of time and I am a hard worker. Also, I do have a very limited experience with Japanese... Even though Mandarin is my focus, if I can learn more Japanese.. that would be great.
