I want to be able to converse with my family in Belgrade. I am a beginner having used ' Teach Yourself Serbian ' to gain some knowledge of the language. I have no concrete concept of grammar, verb conjugation or tense. Similarly this type of book doesn't lend itself to being able to converse with a native speaker. I am retired and can spend considerable time learning the language.The qualities of a good teacher is someone who has a passion for the language and wants others who are interested to learn it. Takes pride in their work and wants the student to succeed.

I wanto learn Serbo Croatian/Bosn ian as I have an interest in the region and am travelling there later in the year. I am a complete beginner although I can communicate in five other languages other than English so I don't envisage a problem picking up the basics and being able to hold a simple conversation, certainly by the time I go there.
1 or 2 lessons a week would be ideal, a couple of hours at a time. As far as what I am looking for in a teacher, I suppose a native speaker would be best.

I need to learn basic serbian to do basic conversation. I need classes from March to end of April. At the end of April I will be going to Serbia and would like to be able to hold a basic conversation. The perfect teacher would use different strategies to enage me (CD, presentation, reading, movies).
