I have studied French & Spanish to a reasonable level in previous years, however in the past 20 years I have had very little need to use. I love Europe & love to visit, however I find that I have lost my confidence in speaking French or Spanish. I don't want to lose what I already know so would like to restart lessons in conversation in particular whilst also getting the grammar correct.
I have tried to teach myself Italian over the years but again feel that I need to have more indepth teaching to be able to converse & understand what is spoken.
I really love to speak languages native to the country I am visiting, however as I have already said I have lost my confidence in both French & Spanish but still want to learn & get back to where I was.

I am a complete beginner, and have never read or studied chinese before. I would like to learn chinese(manda rin) for a year, in order to prepare myself for the course that I would like to study at university: French and Chinese. I would like to gain a basic understanding of the language and be able to converse even at a a low level. I would like to dedicate approximately 4 hours a week to lessons. The teacher should be easily understood in english, an able educator, experience in chinese and be willing to work with someone who has very little knowledge of the language. Also the fees should be at a reasonable price.
