I was born in Hango Finland and was brought to England at age 3 months. I have now retired and am planning a trip to Finland in 2010. I understand swedish is generally spoken in Finland and I need to be able have a basic vocabulary to get around.
My wife,also English, is accompanying me. We are retired and could fit in with most schedules.

My goal is to move to Sweden in the next 2-3 years, I have visited the country several times over the past few years and fallen in love with the people, lifestyle & culture. Whilst I have picked up some very basic words, I find myself becoming increasingly frustrated by my reliance on friends for translation purposes. I would ideally wish to become fluent enough in Swedish to hold general everyday conversations . I would also wish to understand travel related conversation as this will enable me to find work in my profession as an HGV driver.
Le ssons need to be flexible to fit round my irregular working pattern. I'm looking therefore for a teacher who is understanding of my work life, and can be as flexible in the setting of lessons.

my proficiency level is very low as i only know basic greetings and words and not so much structureed sentences. i will be learning as a basis to move to sweden as my fiance is half swedish and we would very much like to sstart a new life there.general pronunciation is the first area to address i feel along with general conversation. i am willing to dedicate as much time as necessary though i would ideally intend to learn quickly. i would prefer my teacher to be able to connect on a personal sort of level which can help me grow in confidence to converse with native speakers

Basically i'm a complete beginner at Swedish. A very close friend of mine speaks it and i have wanted to learn for a very long time as he is swedish and wishes to take me to sweden to meet his friends.
