I'm interested in learning Sanskrit for my own knowledge and interest. Having taken several South Asian religious studies courses during my undergraduate career, I became very interested in learning Sanskrit. I would like to able to understand Sanskrit texts as they are, rather than reading translated versions. I speak Hindi and believe that learning Sanskrit will help improve my Hindi as well.
I began learning Sanskrit at the beginning of 2012 but have been out of touch with it for a few months now. During my study of Sanskrit, I learned the basics of the alphabet and had started putting together simple sentences.
I need to improve my reading and writing of sentences, and pronunciation of Sanskrit words.
I would be able to dedicate my time to a session a week, for a couple of months to begin with.
