My fiance and I would like to learn Mandarin because we are interested in learning a new language and also because we are looking for work in Singapore (and possibly China). We believe that learning Mandarin will give us more work opportunities .
We have not studied Mandarin before, therefore our proficiency level would be beginner.
We would like to have lessons 2 - 3 times a week.
Idea lly, our teacher would need to speak fluent English because we do not speak any Thai.

I would say I am about intermediate level speaking (not fluent) but only beginner in reading and writing. I just began learning to read and write and can only recognize about 90 characters.
I have lived in China for about 1 and a half years, and am now taking a 3 month break in Thailand. I would really like to become fluent before i return to England next year, and want to continue my studies in Thailand.
I am studying on my own, so i would be interested in about 1 to 2 hours guided tuition per week.
I would like a teacher with flexible methods that could accommodate my unusual ratio of speaking to writing and reading. I would probably like to focus on reading and writing with a view to catch up on my speaking a little.
