I am applying to a scholar program in Ethiopia where I will be conducting research, and it is recommended that I learn Amharic. I am in the beginner stages of learning, so I need help in all areas. I am willing to dedicate at least an hour every day to learning the language. I travelled to Egypt last October and want to return and see things 'away from the beaten path.' I lived in Tehran a long time ago and am respectful and sensitive to the cultural differences in that part of the world. I feel I should speak the language if I am to travel to other lands. I want to travel again to Egypt, and then to Jordan and Morocco.
I am able to speak a little Egyptian Arabic and want to learn to be a more proficient speaker. I have been casually learning some Arabic with an Egyption friend, but am ready to learn more.
Also , I hope to use Arabic to advance my career.

Dear Sir/Ma'am, I am am adult (New Orleans) who would be interested in having a tutor assist me in learning basic Russian. I have some knowledge (1-yr. High School Russian) I aquired many years ago, but need to start learning the basics again.
I have always been interested in the Russian language and would like to learn it as a personal goal. I have recently attempted to self-teach with tapes, books, DVDs, etc. but realize that I may need a teacher to converse with. I would be interested in lessons maybe 2 - 4 times a month, but this is just a suggestion. Thank you.
