My name is Alicia Johnson. I'm very interested in learning Russian and learning more about the culture. I find it interesting I also dated some who's Russian I love the language all around. I like learning different things this will also help me understand and communicate more with my Russian friends also to advance my career. I've always been into different language. I work a lot but I'm willing to dedicate to my time to my teacher in a classroom two times a week. I want my teacher to teach me everything since I am a beginner. I have recently taken a position with Avalara as the director of a department with 20+ employees who work in Pune, India. To be a more effective leader for this team, I feel compelled to learn their native language. I cannot think of a better way to earn their respect.
I will also visit there about 4 times a year, and my recent visit highlighted exactly how important it is that I learn the language. I'm comfortable getting around and all, but to really be IN India I need to be able to join the conversation.
There is also a chance that, after a few years, my entire family may choose to move to India and work with the team there for a year or more.
Curr ently I am an absolute beginner. I am interested in learning the specific mix of Marathi and Hindi prevalent in Pune. I can dedicate a few hours a week, and will have a native speaker sitting in the same office as I to help me with regular exposure. I need a patient teacher - foreign languages have always been a challenge for me.
