I am a beginner, I am trying to learn vocabulary on my own but I am having trouble with the conjugation and grammer. It is a very difficult language. I would like to suprise my boyfriend by being able to speak to him and his family. I would like to dedicate as much time as it takes to feel like I have a good foundation and understanding . I would like a teacher who is patient and can explain things ina simple format.

My father is from Croatia and my grandparents are still there. I really want to learn conversationa l Croatian so I can communicate directly with my grandparents and with my Dad in his native tongue. I have a very basic knowledge of Croatian and have been told I have great pronounciatio n skills. I would like to learn to write a little bit but mostly conversationa l usage is what I am looking for. I would be interested in dedicating several hours a week to lessons. I am open to private lessons or classroom, but not so interested in phone or online lessons. I would prefer a teacher with a native Croatian background but it is not a requirement-- someone with a proficiency in the language would be great. Oh, yes, and NOT Serbo-Croatia n (it's not the same thing!) but pure Croatian.
