I am not quite a beginner, but I might as well be. Chinese was actually my first language - as a small child it is all that was spoken in my household. I have since forgotten a lot of my Chinese and was never able to read or write. My goal is to significantly increase (re-develop) my spoken vocabulary, and begin the process of learning to read and write in Chinese.

I am a beginner and my husband is an intermediate. My husband is Chinese and speaks Cantonese and Mandarin. He is rusty with his Mandarin and would like some help. I want to learn Mandarin as well before we have children so they will be native speakers as well. I also believe that speaking Mandarin will help our careers. Since I am a beginner i need a very knowledgable teacher who is patient. I am willing to meet up to 3 times a week depending on how far the teacher is from me. My husband and I would attend together. I need a very detailed lesson plan as I have tried to learn on my own in the past and could not get organized. I need help on my pronunciation s however my husband does not. We are planning a trip to visit family in China in 2007 and I would like to be able to converse with others.
