Hello,
I am a beginner in Ukrainian. I am interested in learning the language, as I have great interest in the country. My great granparents immigrated from the Volynska District, Ukraine in 1909. I am an amateur genealogist and come across numerous documents and papers written in Ukrainian. I visited the Ukraine last August for a week. My friend and I traveled from Lviv to Kiev by way of the village I think that my great grandparents came from, Rovno, and Zhitomyr in a van with a driver and a translator that we had hired. I would love to go back in the next 5 years.
I am moving in October to Florida, so I was wondering how long your lessons are as well as how much they cost.

I am a beginner in the Ukrainian language.
I am learning for personal necesity as I plan to live in Ukraine for a minimum of three months during summer/fall 2008. I am also learning Ukrainian for future career advancement.
I would like to focus on conversationa l Ukrainain.
I am hoping to dedicate a minimum of five hours weekly to language lessons. This includes time on my own.
I would like a teacher with a passion to teach, a willingness to meet the needs I have, a tutor who is flexible, and patience with his/her student (me).

Beginner. I am learning because I am going on a mission trip to Ukraine (I have been there 2 times prior) and I am very interested in learning the language. I would like to be able to communicate with the people in Ukraine as much as possible without a translator. I would like to dedicate an hour or two weekly in lessons and am open to homework outside of classes to improve my skills. I am most effective at retaining information in a classroom setting. I would like to learn everything there is to know about the language; sentence structure, grammar, polite and informal ways of saying things, and how to write. I do know the Ukrainian alphabet already and how to sound out words, but I would like to understand what the words mean.
I am looking for a teacher who can be patient. Someone who can help me understand and go slower if need be. I am going to seminary right now and I have a job so I have a busy life, but I am very passionate about learning and having someone who can help me and take the time for me to understand before moving on to other subjects.

My proficiency level is beginner.
I want to learn Ukrainian because I am Ukrainian and my parents never taught me. They spoke only English to me when I was young. I feel a need to learn the language of my people.
I need help with all levels of Ukrainian. I do know the alphabet, but I have great difficulty with grammar and understanding what I hear.
Beca use I work and I am in a doctoral program for psychology, my time is limited, I can only spare one hour's time per week with a tutor.
I want practical, everyday conversationa l lessons.
I need a teacher who is very patient. I have had bad teachers in the past who were very impatient and it has made me afraid of learning Ukrainian. I also need a lot of practice listening to spoken Ukrainian so I can learn to understand what I hear.
