I'm studying Chinese for personal growth and potential career advancement. I'm an American on assignment in Manila and while here would like to begin to learn. I am currently enrolled at the Mandarin Training Center of ShiDa in Taiwan however working and being enrolled is too stressful so I'm coming back to Manila where I hope to meet with a tutor for 10 hours a week starting Oct 2010.
For me learning to speak would be preferred and the writing is less important in the beginning. As I travel between the US and Manila, I hope to continue my studies through Skype or other online technologies.

I m really interested about home study tutor or live in person and im just now student of goethe institut and quite near are exam. I really wanted to have tutor coz its really hard for me. I take the course coz my fiancee was in germany. as a beginner its really hard for me and really ok for me maybe 1 hour to two hours. the qualities im looking for patience, really understand me, have a good knowledge and study as well german at goethe institut. We would like to learn the Mandarin language because we have seen a gap in managing our China office where the English language is used but certain local staff are not proficient. We are beginners in Mandarin and have no idea how to converse in Mandarin. If possible, the outcome we would like to have of this language course is for us to be conversant with the Mandarin language in around 3 months. Teacher quality should be proficient in Mandarin specially in business conversations .
