I would like my two daughters to learn Chinese. They are ages 7 and 11. I would like to see them fluent in speaking, reading, and writing within the next 5 years or so. They are very well disciplined.
There are no Chinese speakers in the family, but we could start attending the Chinese 'Socials' in Plano.

I am a beginner. I have not learned any Chinese. My good friend and I are interested in taking a Chinese course at the University of Minnesota but there is a time conflict. We really want to learn another language together. We both would have practical use for the language because we are in contact with a lot of Chinese speakers. We are willing to dedicate about 6 to 8 hours of class time per week. We are looking for a very good teacher with practical and useful learning tools or exercises we can use outside of the classroom. We are looking for a teacher with very good communication in both English and Chinese and finds joy in teaching and is able to teach effectively. A teacher that has a lot of experience teaching.
